Paying for Care

Private pay or Colorado Medicaid, with one all-inclusive monthly rate.

How can families pay for care?

Families pay for care at Prairie Pines privately or through Colorado Medicaid.

  • Private pay

Prairie Pines accepts private pay, and our team can share current rates and openings when you call.

  • Colorado Medicaid

Prairie Pines accepts Colorado Medicaid for assisted living. Medicaid must be approved before move-in, and approval can take months. Whether someone qualifies depends on income, savings and care needs, so call us or your county human services office to talk it through.

  • VA benefits

We don’t contract with the VA. Call us to talk through your options.

  • Long-term care insurance

Prairie Pines does not work with long-term care insurance.

What does the monthly rate include?

Prairie Pines charges one all-inclusive monthly rate, set by the size of the room. It covers care and three meals a day, plus housekeeping, laundry, everyday supplies and help with rides to medical appointments.

The rate doesn’t change when care needs do, and there are no extra charges for care. Room sizes are on our floor plans page.

Does the rate depend on the room?

Yes. Monthly rates start at $4,500, and each rate is set by room size. Call (719) 408-0958 and our team will walk you through costs for the room your family is considering.

Have a question about cost?
